It is a challenge and at the same time a gift, to be able to express dreams, passions and visions on a canvas.
My painting is less about taking up a subordinate role to strict, artistic rules or serial production, but more about being free for my individual creativity.
Wherever I paint or draw, I feel the challenge to capture the moment and dissolve it in the picture - just like in real life, everything is evanescent.
It appeals to me, to reduce pictures and impressions on their essentials, similarly like my big role models, the impressionists, have done.
Hereby I rarely leave the concretely recognisable.
Inspiration for my oil and acryl works are the people around me, my second home in Ireland and the different forms of appearance of nature and landscape.
